I soon learned that my problem wasn’t my marketing, it was my book.
What's up fam? I'm Jamaad "Maadist" Gould. I started writing professionally a decade ago, but with no formal training and no mentor, I soon found myself doing what most authors do: WASTING MONEY and getting no sales. I spent weeks doing research, but nothing was working.
From Aspiring Writer to Published Author
The story was good, but the creation of it was severely lacking. That’s when I stopped studying how to sell a book, and learned how to create an eye catching book that people couldn’t resist. I learned that you can’t just write a good story, you have to create a professional looking book that appeals to your particular audience. Now I want to take what I have learned and save people time, effort, and money, all while making their dreams come true. Maadist Publishing was founded in 2021 to do just that.
Maadist isn't just your regular publisher.
Along with being an author and publisher, Maadist is also a professor, podcaster, and content creator. That is when he’s not being a husband, brother, and father to two boys and a dog.
He also travels to comic and literary conventions showcasing his work. He knows what it takes to be an indie author, because he is one. His goal is to one day have his name mentioned with the likes of Frank Herbert, J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, N.K. Jemisin, Tomi Adeyemi, and Octavia E. Butler, as one of the greatest sci-fi and fantasy authors to ever live.
